Dan Cummins is a graduate of Indiana State University where he completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education, Master’s Degree in School Leadership, and is currently completing his Educational Specialist Degree. He is a dedicated music education advocate as an area band and orchestra teacher, elementary through college. Dan continues to teach privately, both in-person and online. 

An active trumpeter from Northwest Indiana, Dan is equally at home performing in classical, jazz, and commercial arenas. He has performed in, or conducted, over sixty musical theater productions throughout the Chicagoland area and performs regularly with multiple churches. He has performed with symphony orchestras including the Columbus Philharmonic, the Portage Festival Orchestra, and the South Shore Chamber Orchestra. Appearances with prominent artists include Tim Coffman, Mark Colby, Charley Davis, Dave Stryker, and the great Bobby Vinton. In addition to his US performances, in 2013 Dan toured China as a performer in the premier musical, “Rhapsody in Swing” and returned in the summer of 2017 to study at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing.

Currently, Dan maintains a busy schedule performing with several ensembles, including the South Shore Brass Band, Elton Jeff and the Honky Cats, and The Naperville Winds where he plays principal trumpet. He as contracts with several regional musical theater companies and is the trumpeter for the Catholic Diocese of Gary, Indiana. The creation of Mobile Trumpet Company is the first step in giving Dan’s passion for performing and teaching an online presence and worldwide accessibility.
